Hawaii and Vermont Join Other States to Allow Psychologists to Prescibe Medications
Vermont and Hawaii are joining other states to allow Psychologists to prescribe and manage some medications for psychological purposes. I like their approach since most, if not all, of these meds are non-addicting and their management can be seamless with the psychologist.
I don't think one needs to be an MD or a Doctor in Pharmacology to prescribe prozac, wellbutrin and others like them. More training should be required and operating under the supervision of a physician is wise. At a macro level, I like the direction this is going.
